Authorities now believe Oregon's massive Bootleg fire, one of the largest unconfined wildfires ever experienced on US soil, was started by a lightning strike. The Bootleg fire is now reportedly so large it has generated its own weather in the region, according to a New York Times report.
As of a day ago, the Bootleg fire covered nearly 600 square miles.
