ALERT: Human Traffickers Using Fake "Package Delivery Texts" To Geo-locate, Kidnap Women & Children

2020’s post-apocalyptic dystopia keeps getting weirder — now we have this to worry about in America. A warning making the rounds on social media, including Instagram, shows screenshots of what appear to be fake package delivery text messages. The recipient is told a package was not able to be delivered, and is waiting for them. The text then encourages the recipient to click on a link to view “more details,” and when that webpage’s mobile version is hit, their meta-data and geolocation information is scraped, allowing traffickers in the area to instantly learn where the child is at, and possibly abduct them.
